How to Extend Your Game Boy’s Battery Life
The Game Boy is one of the hottest gadgets today. With its sleek and petite design, gamers of all ages are always hooked to this device wherever, whenever.
Indeed, things have been pretty amazing in the last couple of years for the Game Boy lovers. With the advancement of the digital technology, Game Boy has become more awe-inspiring than ever! Now, the games have become even more entertaining and more adrenalin-pumping.
However, there have been several drawbacks with this technological boom adopted by Game Boy. The most pressing issues have always been concerns over the life of the battery. Of course, with all the graphics, sounds, and lights, logic will tell us that the battery will not last as much as the older and antiquated models.
Sometimes, the battery is considered insignificant by a lot of Game Boy owners. Mind you, readers (and, presumably, gamers), the battery is probably the most important part of your device. Without it, there is, quite literally, no fun.
So, in this article, we are going to give you some helpful tips on how to prolong the life of your Game Boy battery.
1. Just like any device, the lights consume a lot of your battery’s life. Therefore, if you want to prolong the life of your Game Boy, particularly if you are playing a pretty intense game, then I suggest that you turn down the brightness of your gizmo. Besides extending your battery’s life by several hours, decreasing the brightness of your screen will also, in fact, lessen the charging time by almost three times.
2. The latest features of the latest models of the Game Boy include communication features. In other words, you can actually use this gaming gizmo to call or text your family and friends. Such a convenience like this does not come without a drawback, however; the wireless communication aspect of the Game Boy actually sucks a lot of energy. So, you can do either of the two things: use your regular cell phone designed and intended for communication in the first place; or, if the need arises, you can use your Game Boy but you must plug in your AC adapter.
3. Never prolong playing with your Game Boy once the red light starts to flash (flashing red lights are never fun). The flashing red light in your Game Boy is actually the sign that your battery is low. Once the flashing starts, you should either turn off your game; or, for the diehard users, you can plug in your AC so you can continue your adrenalin-filled Game Boy experience. Remember: prolonged use of a low-battery-state Game Boy will adversely affect the life of your battery. Heed this warning.
4. If you are not playing, if you are resting your eyes and your fingers, and if you do not want to switch off your Game Boy, then you need to use the sleep mode. How do you do this? Simply fold your Game Boy, and, voila, your little friend will sleep! The sleep mode will, of course, minimize battery consumption by as much as 80-90% without shutting down the memory of the Game Boy.
5. If, for instance, you are not going to use the Game Boy for more than an hour or so, then it is best that you shut down your device. This way, you extend your battery’s life, and you give your little gizmo a rest (high tech gadgets need to rest, too).
