The Game Boy Advance SP Review

The Game boy Advance SP is considered to be one of the most loved consoles today. There are a lot of good reasons why gamers are very fond of the Game boy Advance SP. This article will try to discuss at length some of the features, and some of the pros and cons of the Game Boy Advance.

Critics, especially those from dedicated computer magazines, are not really fond of the console, and they have harsh things to say about Nintendo and the Game boy Advance, to be more specific. As a matter of fact, the average score that most of them gave to the console was, in a scale of 1-5 with 5 as the highest, was 3. For something as hotly anticipated as the Game boy Advance, this is pretty harsh.

The most disadvantageous feature of the Game boy Advance, according to them, is the fact that the displays have barely changed. Basically, the screen display of the Game Boy family has always carried a trademark: overly simplistic. For a very long time, indeed, the Game Boy has always stuck with simple and affordable displays which have allowed Nintendo to offer their items and units at very low prices. According to critics, this is an insult to the modern gaming industry, especially with other competing gaming companies having highly sophisticated gaming platforms bearing highly modified screen displays.

The second disadvantage, to a much lesser extent, is the fact that the battery of the Game boy Advance cannot be swapped with other models. Furthermore, the new Game boy Advance units do not come with a free headset.

So, what is the market price of a Game boy Advance? Well, you can get one if you have $150 in your pockets. You cannot say the same with the other advanced yet expensive consoles.

The above statement is, in fact, one of the greatest pros of the Game boy Advance. Although it lacks the sophisticated displays, Game boy Advance is very cheap in comparison with the other expensive hand-held consoles.

Another advantage of the Game boy Advance is the fact that somewhat presents itself as an irony in that it contradicts the first disadvantage. Basically, the games that you can play with the Game boy Advance are actually very exciting in spite of the 16-bit display. Therefore, this console will be able to provide gamers a thrill, minus all the expenses.

Also, gamers and Nintendo lovers think the overall physical appearance of the Game Boy Advance SP as stylish. Indeed, it is actually packed with all sorts of features that gamers want and love. Furthermore, it is so small and petite that you can fit it in your pocket without the fear that the screen might get scratched. This is because the Game Boy Advance can be folded when not in use.

Another interesting thing about the Game Boy Advance SP is the new battery. The lithium-ion battery that is used by the console is of the advanced kind which, coupled with the 16-bit display screen of the Game Boy, allows gamers to play their favorite games for hours on end.

All in all, I would rate the Game Boy Advance at a solid 4.5 despite the harsh criticisms of techno experts.  You can call it simplicity at its best.
